ETS2 Beta - Strasbourg To Reims

Well I am true to my word, the new video is uploaded onto Utube, but please remember that a 12 year old was playing the game at the time of it being recorded and there might be some faults with his driving as after all he is only 12.

My 12 year old son playing Euro Truck Simulator 2, regulars to my blog and forums may have read about this video on there, and the fact that he did not stop asking me to play the game, so I allowed him a small trip to keep him happy

Trip Information

Cargo - Suger
Starting Points Stasbourg
Destination - Reims
Game time - 3hrs 52mins
Actual Time - 20mins ( approx )
Distance - 193miles

Please remember that a 12 year old was playing the game at the time of recording, and if there are any mistakes it is because of his age.

Please be aware that there may be slight inperfections in this video, as video editing is not my strong point, but I am hopefully doing enough to scrape by without embarassing myself to much. I hope you enjoy the video, I know I enjoyed recording it.

New Video Due Soon

A man can only take so much right?......well my 12 year old son seems to know this better than most, and has constantly been asking can he play Euro Truck Simulator 2, I tried to explain to him that I need the time left to find and report problems and as the games map is so big that it takes alot of time to cover as much of it as I can ( this is my excuse and I am sticking to it ok!! ), I don't think he believed me and kept on, so in the end ( anything for a quiet life ) I gave in and allowed him a short trip which I should have ready for the fans of the game tomorrow.

Do I hear you ask which route I allowed my son to drive the truck, well it was from Strasbourg To Reims, which is about 170 game miles, about 20mins give or take, which seemed to keep him happy.

While I was adding this post to my blog, I thought I would add a extra couple of screenshots to keep your Euro Truck Simulator 2 hunger at bay for at least until the video is ready.

Screenshot above is of a Majestic truck, which has been upgraded, screenshot's below is action shots taken from another load I completed while I recorded it as I might even upload yet another video.

I have also added a few more screenshots to the forums the link for this is here for anybody wishing to view them, there are a total of 24 screenshots in forums thread

Update

With Euro Truck Simulator 2, due for release soon, I have not really had a vast amount of time to record more video's for the blog and forums, so I thought I would just add a couple of screenshots from the game.

The screenshot above is from the driver's seat of the Scania R730 that was featured in my last post on the blog, which has now done over 10 thousand game miles ( which can been seen in the above picture on the dashboard ), in less than three days I have driven over 10 thousand miles with this truck alone, as you can imagine the map featured in ETS2 is rather large so takes quite a long time to travel around while looking for problems that need to be reported, however we can not guarantee to find every single problem before the game's release in eight days ( 19th Oct is the offical release date ), but you might now understand that the beta testers and SCS are working like crazy to find/fix everything that they can.

The following screenshots show some of the traffic jams that can often happen in ETS2, I love how realistic some of them actually are, and you can spend a fair amount of time wating your turn to cross traffic lights, or a railway crossing etc.

Screenshot above shows that AI traffic is starting to buildup behind my truck while I was waiting for the lights to change.

Screenshot below shows the traffic jam in front of my truck at the lights, and this is alot smaller than it was when I first joined the queue of traffic as I was not going to take a screenshot of the traffic but then decided that I would and even write a little about it on the blog.

Screenshot below shows the same as the screenshot above but using the external view instead.

I will try to record another video over the next day or so, keep checking back on the blog and the forums for more updates.

Update On My New Scania

I got a bit bored of my bright orange Scania R730 more or less after completing the last video, which is of course just after I bought the new Scania for my in game fleet, my old truck is now being driven by a new company employee, I buy a brand new truck, cover around 30 thousand game miles in it, then hire a driver for it and replace it with a brand new truck.

Anyway I love the new paint job on my Scania so much I thought I would add a couple of screenshots to the blog, so everybody can enjoy them.

Below are a couple of screenshots of the old paint job on my Scania, thought I would also add them so you can compare these to the upgraded paint job.

And here are the pictures from the new paint job, right before I completed the upgrade, shes a beauty now huh?

I know what you going to say right?........its still bright orange, well it is very simular colour to that of the original pain on the truck, but the design is a real nice bit of craftmanship.

For all those out there that like the idea of getting stuck in real situations while playing Euro Truck Simulator 2, like for example being stuck behind a load of other traffic on smaller roads where it is virtually impossible to overtake them, is in for a real treat, ETS2 does this job very well at certain times of the day/night, there can be a very large number of other traffic on the roads, and traffic jams are inevitable, a small example is shown below in a simple forum of a screenshot, showing the amound of AI cars that was in front of me on a "A" road, which being in a truck that is limited to 55mph means that I could not get past until a dual carriageway far far down the road

As you might be able to see from the screenshot above, there is a long line of AI traffic in front of me on this part of the road.

Well I am now starting to look for idea's for my next gameplay video, so please keep checking back on the blog and the forums for more information, video's and of course more screenshots.
